Virgo Farewell

On Friday the 14th of December 2007, we bid a sad goodbye to a stalwart of the club and life member in Brett Virgo.

The eyes were misty, the beer was flowing, the stories were stretched, and the snaggers were burnt as the combined Kangas-Hannans Cricket Club function saw a large turnout to farewell Brett & Yvonne Virgo as they move to the big smoke.

Speeches from family, friends, club representatives, and the big(ish) man himself were all well received as Kangas presented Brett & Yvonne with a framed (and later signed) club jumper to take with them.

Unfortunately images of this special moment are not available as everyone’s favourite committee member disappeared half an hour before the big moment! (Nice one, Jez) ;)

Thankfully, he did manage to put down his drink long enough to take a few happy snaps of the event, including this one of Brett taking in what may be one of his final looks around the clubbies before the big move.
