17-04-08 - Scotty H Gets 100!

This weekends games against Mines at Sir Richard Moore represents a very special milestone for both the club and for a certain player.

This weekend marks Scott Haythornthwaite's 100th league game for Kalgoorlie City Football Club. To celebrate this occasion, KangasFC.com caught up with Scotty on the eve of his milestone game for a quick chat:

What does it mean to you personally to reach 100 games?

It means a lot. I've been playing since I was a junior, I've been here since I was 10 years old. So playing 100 games means a lot, especially to join the list of previous players who have got there. Pretty happy to get there, get past that 100 games and hopefully keep going!

Strongest memory of last 100 games?

Funnily enough, probably my first game, playing against Mines. They were a pretty powerful team back then, so running out against players like Chris Jeron, Jeremy Crawley, ex-WAFL players they had a lot of experience and yeah, taught me a lot. So yeah, playing my first game is probably my strongest memory.

Aims for this season?

Pretty much team-oriented, want to win a premiership, want to finish pretty high on the ladder. Individually, just want to play good footy. Keep getting a kick, play good footy for the team that's all.

Is 150 on the cards?

Ummm, not too sure, I'll pretty much take it year by year, see how I feel at the end of the year. If the bodies OK, which it's pretty good at the moment. It's the fittest I've been since I've started. I'm really enjoying it at the moment, so pretty much at the end of the year I'll see how the bodies going!

Anything else you'd like to add, Scotty?

To sum it all up, I'd pretty much like to thank all my coaches and guys I've played with, the president, and anyone I've come in contact with during my time at the club. So yeah, very happy to finally get there and very proud to play 100 games for Kangas.
